Two-Week Tales

As of today, I'm officially a self-published author.

Eight months ago, Two-Week Tales began as a seed of creativity but quickly grew into something larger. I'm an accountant who spends most of the day moving numbers in circles, and I was starting to feel bogged down by that way of thinking. I wanted to change it. Why not try creating something? And so I did.

During my initial brainstorming process, I immediately had the idea to pursue fiction, more specifically fiction writing. Anyone who knows me would point to my love of storytelling, whether through the silver screen, paperback novels, or my expressive hand gestures when sharing just about anything. All in all, fiction writing felt like the right jumping off point, and it quickly became a decision I was happy about.

I didn't set out to write the next great American classic or prove I could do this as a full-time job. I wanted to have fun, experiment, and create something worth sharing. I had no idea the process outside of the writing would be just as interesting and even more challenging. After all these months, the finished project now sits on my bookshelf, and I'm proud of it.

So, what exactly is Two-Week Tales?

By simple definition it is a fiction short story collection, but with a twist. I gave myself a strict rule while writing it. Each short story must be drafted, written, and edited in a two-week period. Following that rule consistently over five months resulted in a book full of many different ideas, structures and genres rooted in experimentation.

Each story stands on its own, so you can pick it up, put it down, and return to it in any order you like. Read them in order, and you'll also see my evolution as a writer as they were compiled chronologically.
