“Ten stories. Twenty weeks. Each written under the same constraint: Time.”

What happens when a non-writer sets themselves a writing challenge? A collection of learning, experimentation, and progress quickly forms. Each short story was drafted, written, and edited under the same challenge: it must be finished in a two-week period. Across five months, the process resulted in ten short stories.

Drop into a brutal noir thriller, a slow meditative sci-fi, or a chaotic comedy. This book set out to work within the conventions of fiction writing while also testing them. Each entry was intentionally designed to stand on its own. As the reader, you can enter and exit as you like, or simply read them in order and observe the writing progression. In total, the collection captures what worked, what didn’t, and everything in-between.

Two-Week Tales marks the self-published debut of writer Owen LePlavy.
